Overdraft Protection for You

We understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and overdrawing your checking account can happen. That's why we offer the following overdraft protection services* -

  • Cover overdrafts from another account. If you have a transaction larger than your account balance, we can transfer funds from a savings account into your checking account.
  • Courtesy Overdraft Limit. We will automatically cover any overdrafts, up to a specified amount.
  • Balance Plus+. This is a line of credit that can cover overdraft amounts.

You may opt-out of any or all overdraft services by calling 888-529-5450 or visiting any Citizens State Bank location. To opt-in or opt-out of ATM and Everyday Debit Card Transaction overdrafts, complete this form.

*Various fees may apply with each option. Accounts will be charged a $32 NSF Paid Item fee for each overdraft created by check, ACH or point-of-sale transaction, ATM or in-person withdrawal, or other electronic item that is paid. A $32 NSF Return Item fee will be charged for returned items. An overdrawn balance must be repaid within 32 days. If your account isn't maintained in good standing (by having a positive balance for a minimum of 24 hours every 32 days), if you default on a loan or other obligation to Citizens State Bank, or if your account is subject to any legal or administrative order or levy, we may not pay items under your overdraft privilege.
