Citizens Women's Connection - Pendleton

Wednesday, November 19 | 11:30 - 12:45 pm

129 S Pendleton Ave, Pendleton IN

Meet Tami Wanninger! As Executive Director of Prevail, Inc., Tami leads a nonprofit dedicated to providing lifesaving, trauma-informed support to survivors of crime and abuse across Hamilton County and surrounding communities. With more than 33 years in the nonprofit sector, Tami brings deep expertise in leadership, quality, and compassionate service. Before joining Prevail in 2023, she spent nearly three decades with Noble, Inc., advancing care for adults and children with developmental disabilities. A graduate of Indiana State University with degrees in criminal justice, sociology, and public administration, Tami’s passion for service extends beyond her work — she’s volunteered with several organizations, including Open Doors of Washington Township, a 100% volunteer-run food pantry. Originally from Zionsville and now a longtime Westfield resident, Tami and her husband, Kurt, are proud parents of two adult children — Samantha, a speech therapist in South Carolina, and Josh, a PhD candidate in astrophysics in Wyoming.

Standing Strong: Supporting Survivors and Strengthening Communities

Join Tami Wanninger, Executive Director of Prevail, Inc., for an inspiring session on what it means to walk alongside survivors of crime and abuse — and how each of us can play a role in fostering safety, empathy, and healing in our communities.

Drawing on more than three decades of nonprofit leadership, Tami will share how Prevail provides free, trauma-informed services to individuals and families in crisis, and how the organization’s impact continues to grow through community support and partnership.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the Journey — Gain awareness of the realities survivors face and the importance of trauma-informed care.

  • Respond with Empathy — Discover how to offer meaningful, respectful support when it’s needed most.

  • Champion the Cause — Learn tangible ways to get involved and support Prevail’s mission to empower survivors and strengthen communities.

Walk away with deeper understanding, compassion, and practical ways to stand with survivors — helping ensure that hope and healing are within reach for everyone.
